The search has begun to find the young sportsmen and women

The search has begun to find the young sportsmen and women who will represent Team Ipswich at the Redrow 2005 Suffolk Youth Games to be held in Ipswich on Sunday 10th July 2005. This will be the sixth time the games have taken place and they promise to be the biggest ever with over 1000 competitors from the seven districts of Suffolk taking part in the largest youth multi-sport event in the county. Teams from all the districts will compete in ten sports: athletics, girls' basketball, girls’ cricket, girls’ football, hockey, netball, rugby (Tag), squash, swimming and tennis. There are also events in athletics and swimming for young people with disabilities.

To represent Team Ipswich, young people must live or go to school in the Ipswich Borough and also meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen sport. All the information on these criteria and how to sign up can be found on the Suffolk Youth Games Recruitment leaflet (which includes the Player Registration Form) available from any Borough Council Sports Centre or from the Council's Sports Development Unit on 01473 433542.
