The Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Bill Wright, invited local schoolchildren to help him open the refurbished Bretts Fountain in the Upper Arboretum of Christchurch Park. When the fountain was originally opened in 1862, with its four taps for gentry, workers, ladies and children, the then Mayor declined to attend. Now, it’s a question of Wrighting a wrong. The work was done by Paul Templeton of Suffolk Masonry Services.
