There will be another one along in a minute - well in an hour at the most actually! That was the good news from two local councils who have worked out a plan to double the number of buses on a route taking people to and from Ipswich Hospital and the town centre via north Ipswich. Ipswich Buses’ Route 31 was established three years ago, after the Borough Council agreed to pay a subsidy for off-peak services. Now the contract is up for renewal, the Council has got together with their Suffolk County colleagues to offer a peak-time hourly service. From 4th April 2005, Route 31 will go from Tower Ramparts on the half-hour and calls at the Old Cattle Market, Chelsworth Avenue, the Millennium Cemetery in Tuddenham Road, Inverness Road, Rushmere Road, Westbury Road, Bloomfield Street and the Heath Road entrance of the Hospital. Buses leave the Hospital on the hour.
