Silence fell over Ipswich at noon

Silence fell over Ipswich at noon on Thursday 14th July 2005 as the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Bill Wright, led the community into two minutes silence in memory of those killed and injured in the recent London bombings. The Mayor and other civic leaders stood on the Town Hall steps as the clock struck 12. A large crowd gathered in front of the Town Hall and fell silent as they remembered the atrocities that had take place one week earlier at four sites around London.
