Safer Summer

Have fun, stay safe. This is the key message being promoted as part of Safer Summer in Ipswich this year (2005).  

After the success of last year's events, the Safer Summer team are back providing information, advice and support to the large numbers of people flocking to key events such as REM, McFly, Neil Diamond and Ip-Art this year.  

Safer Summer provides an opportunity for people to get information in a non-judgmental way without the worry and pressure of other people knowing what they are looking for. Based in a marquee at the events, Safer Summer provides information for all ages on a range of issues from drugs to teenage pregnancy, anti-social behaviour to going out safely at night.   

Last year, more than 10,000 people came along to see what the Safer Summer team had to offer and to gain information about their local services while having the chance to have their say.
