The Roll of Honour, which lists all the names
The Roll of Honour, which lists all the names of Ipswich servicemen who lost their lives during the Second World War, has been updated.

During the appeal for funding to extend the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park to enable the names to be added to those of the First World War, many additional names were found which had not been included in the Roll of Honour.

The Roll of Honour was sent away to have the missing names added. Each inscription on each page is hand-written and the whole book is bound in leather, making it a very fitting memorial. It is on permanent display in the Borough Council's Tourist Information Centre in a display case.

Peter Thompson, Chairman of the Ipswich branch of the Royal British Legion, presented the Roll of Honour back to the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Roger Fern, on the 60th anniversary of the liberation by British troops of the prisoners in the Nazis' Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
