Disability charity Optua is holding an archery taster session for disabled people at Copleston High School on Friday 17th February 2006. The sessions will be coached by Suffolk's Archery Coach, Maureen Halton. David Hilton, Manager of the Great Britain Paralympic Archery Team who lives in the county will also be at the event and will be firing the first shot to show everyone how it's done! The event has been organised by Optua’s Leisure Service and is available to anyone aged 14 and over with a physical, sensory or learning disability. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a carer. Meanwhile, Optua is getting 2006 off to a bang by launching a brand new homecare service for disabled people. Optua Homecare is a unique and exciting new service. Optua has been running care services for disabled people in Suffolk for years, including a residential care home, and five supported housing schemes.

Optua is holding its 21st annual day of fun arts and activities event in April 2006. The 21st ‘Share’ event will have the theme of the theatre this year with the title ‘Share the Limelight’. The all day event will take place on Saturday 29th April 2006 at Thurston Community College.
