Ipswich Borough Council has launched a campaign to encourage people to use fewer carrier bags.
Ipswich Borough Council has launched a campaign to encourage people to use fewer carrier bags. Choose 2 Re-use is supported by supermarkets Asda and the Co-op and wants to get the message across that the 10 billion carrier bags we use each year lead to 100,000 tonnes of waste in the UK. The campaign is promoting the use of reusable bags and "bags for life". Meanwhile, although you should not put plastic carrier bags in your blue bin, Sainsbury's in Hadleigh Road and Asda in Goddard Road have recycling points for them.
