Christchurch Mansion has re-opened after a major period of refurbishment and now has even more features and attractions.
Ipswich Borough Council has now refurbished the east wing of the Mansion returning it to the 1750-1800 period when the Fonnereaus became the third family to own the house.
A suite of new exciting period rooms has been created, including a 1750s period morning room, the Fonnereau family dining room and a gentleman's library.
The rooms have been brought alive with the inclusion of several period costume figures, thanks to sponsorship by the East of England Co-operative Society.
The Wolsey Art Gallery also has a new look, with the most important collection of Constables and Gainsboroughs outside London being displayed together for the first time.
The Borough Council thanks the Friends of Ipswich Museum for their sponsorship to enable these works to be displayed.
