Former Ipswich Borough Councillor Brian Jay has died
Former Ipswich Borough Councillor Brian Jay has died. Brian, a former Leader of the Conservative Group and Councillor for Castle Hill Ward, was also a Korean War veteran.
The news came at the same time as the death of Peter Thompson, Chair of the Ipswich branch of the Royal British Legion.
The Mayor, Councillor Henry Davies, paid tribute to both men. "This is very sad news indeed. Both Brian and Peter were hard-working members of the community who have left their mark on Ipswich. We shall not forget their contributions to society nor the fact that they were both likeable men. Our thoughts are with their families."
