For the second year running, Homer-Defoe Residents' Association has won the Ipswich Residents Associations' bowls tournament and scooped the new Mayor's Trophy in the process.
The Mayor, Councillor Inga Lockington, donated the trophy and was impressed with the level of interest and the skill of the bowlers.
The competition was held on the all-weather bowls green at Whitton Sports Centre, on Whitton Church Lane.
Last year the players in the Homer-Defoe team had competition only from Whitton Residents' Association but this year the tournament was expanded to the whole town so they also went head to head with teams from Chantry and Ipswich Borough Councillors.
