The creation of a multi-million pound retail, residential and business development in the heart of Ipswich
The creation of a multi-million pound retail, residential and business development in the heart of Ipswich moved a huge step closer with the announcement that the Civic Centre site has been sold.

Civic Centre, Ipswich Borough Council's former HQ, opened in 1972 and has been empty since last September.

The tower block, two surface car parks and the underground spiral car park has been purchased by a regional development company, Turnstone Estates Ltd.

The site has a planning brief which is looking at retail, residential and office uses.

The proceeds of the sale has enabled the Council to move into its new backroom HQ in Grafton House at no cost to the council tax-payer and enable the regeneration of the town centre.
