Ipswich is one of 40 areas in the country awarded Respect Zone status

Ipswich is one of 40 areas in the country awarded Respect Zone status. This does not mean that Ipswich is one of 40 worst areas in the country; it is a recognition that good work has already taken place to tackle anti-social behaviour and acknowledges there is still more to be done. Being a Respect Zone allows access to increased funding. It has allowed the Borough Council to support the establishing of a Making Tracks facility on the Triangle estate. This will provide something extra for children aged 8 years to 13 years. The start date was 16th April and it runs on three evenings a week in the Resource Centre in Dickens Road.

There are many people involved in tackling anti-social behaviour but most importantly it is the public’s help we need to make a difference. Report anti-social behaviour by using one of the following methods:

Complete one of the Incident Reporting Forms available in all branches of The East of England Co-op and other outlets.

Ring the 24 hour free phone, multi-lingual reporting line phone number 0800 138 6570

Ring the local rate telephone line 0845 605 2222

Send a picture by a camera phone to 07739 888558 (text the word Ipswich and a brief description of where it was taken). Please be careful, it is not advisable to photograph groups of people, only damage, litter, graffiti, abandoned cars and environmental issues.

Contact your local Housing Office or ring the Police on 999 if it is an emergency or the main Police switchboard 01473 613500 if non urgent.
