Nearly 450 Scouts will be celebrating their centenary in Ipswich this summer

Nearly 450 Scouts will be celebrating their centenary in Ipswich this summer - joining 28 million colleagues from around the world.

The Scouting Movement centenary is on 1st August and the Scouts in Ipswich will be carrying out various tasks in Orwell Country Park, pulling out ragwort and bracken, raking meadows and picking litter.

Not only will they be carrying out these tasks by spending their time helping other people and giving something back to the community, they will also be having recreation time using the orienteering course at Bridge Wood.

They will be joining nearly 50,000 young people in the UK in the centenary celebrations. The centenary will signal a new age in Scouting, and will provide an opportunity to reflect on how the movement was founded, what it has achieved, but also where it is going.
