You know what it’s like. You’re standing waiting for a bus and suddenly it starts to rain. You can see the bus at the end of the road but you’re still going to get soaked.
Ipswich Borough Council wants to help put an end to all that and is asking residents and bus passengers if they want a bus shelter on their route. Clearly, the Council cannot afford to build bus shelters at every stop but it will take all requests into consideration and look at how well used the bus stop is, how wide the pavement is and how much money it has.
So, don’t risk a drenching. All you have to do is to write to the Council by Friday 31st August, stating which stop you would like to see a shelter at (please be as precise as possible). Any viable sites not chosen will be added to the Council's waiting list for future consideration. Responses should be sent to: Public Transport Officer, Transportation (3E), Ipswich Borough Council, Grafton House, Russell Road, Ipswich IP1 2DE.
