The "can do" and friendly attitude of Ipswich Borough Council's Community Caretakers has been recognised again with a national award.
The team, which helps to make many of Ipswich's neighbourhoods safer and cleaner, was established six years ago and provides a friendly face for tenants to go to if they have any problems.
That dedication was rewarded first in 2004 with a Warden Quality Standard Award - with Distinction. And the Council has learned that the double success has now been repeated.
Caretakers' leader Paul Reid said: "We don't do this job to get awards but we are very proud. We try to help in all sorts of ways in the community and always set out to be flexible. We clear rubbish, get faults, such as lighting, sorted out, and help in any way we can. We are also there to talk to and listen to tenants and we have made lots of friends. I know this team and they are a dedicated and happy lot."
The awards are made annually by the Warden Resource Centre in London and reward well managed schemes, partnership working and a close relationship with the community.
