This summer, the Friends of Christchurch Park are hosting four special concerts featuring some of the best bands in Suffolk.
Set on the Upper Arboretum lawn, against a peaceful backdrop of leafy trees and the beautifully restored Arts and Crafts Shelter (known to many as "The Bandstand"), there will be music to suit all tastes, ranging from traditional airs to light classical and jazz.
Chairs are provided but many of the audience choose to recline on the grass to take in the atmostphere.
The concerts are completely FREE and are held from 2.30pm - 4.30pm (including an interval) on the following dates:
Sunday 20 July - Suffolk Concert Band (sponsored by the East of England Co-op)
Sunday 27 July - Phoenix Brass (sponsored by the Ipswich Society)
Sunday 10 August - Ipswich Hospital Band (sponsored by Scrutton Bland)
Sunday 17 August - Stacks of Sax (sponsored by the Lions Club of Ipswich)
