Cancer Research UK's Race for Life is the UK's largest women only fundraising event.

Women of all ages come together to walk, jog or run 5K to raise money to help Cancer Research UK beat cancer. There are 262 Race for Life events taking place all over the UK, with two planned to take place in Ipswich.

Chantry Park is hosting the Race for Life on Sunday 08 June 2008.
The race begins at 11:00am but runners need to arrive at least an hour before so they can take part in the warm-up. The 5km course will take runners round Chantry Park, and the surrounding areas. It's a fantastic location, and this year we hope to see 2,500 women run, jog or walk the course and smash the fundraising target of £172,000 to help more people survive cancer.

This year Ipswich women can also participate in the Race for Life at Trinity Park (formerly the Suffolk Showground) on the evening of Wednesday 09 July 2008.

For more information and to enter for either race visit www.raceforlife.org/centraleast (opens in new window) or call 0871 641 2271.

And this year why not get a male member of your family or friends to join in too and enter the Run for Moore. This 5km run for men is organised by the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK to help tackle bowel cancer. The men's event will take place right after Race for Life at the same venue, making this a great day out for the whole family.
