The official completion of the £4.2 million refurbishment work that has been taking place in Christchurch Park and the opening of the Reg Driver Visitor Centre - a brand new visitor and education centre for the park - will take place today.
The refurbishment project was paid for by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Ipswich Borough Council.
Part of the work carried out involved the major restoration of the Round Pond, but the programme also included mass planting across the park, the restoration of a number of historic buildings, the construction of a new pavilion, a new tunnel leading from the Arboretum into the park, and a new network of safer footpaths.
