Keep your eyes open for the Ipswich Doorstep Play Project this summer.
Ipswich Borough Council's mobile play project, funded by the National Lottery, provides free open access play for children aged 7-11 on a turn up and play basis in their local communities. The Doorstep Play Project will visit local parks, play areas and open spaces.
Activities typically include face painting, mask-making, junk modelling, jewellery, display boards, mosaic, card-making, football, rounders, skipping, cricket and much more for the children to take part in and enjoy. Specific activities are, of course, dependent on the weather and location.
The team will be visiting the following areas this year, so come along and join the fun:
Bramford Lane recreation ground, Whitehouse, Dickens Road open space, Alexandra Park (near the play area), Dumbarton Road (near the play area), Murray Road recreation ground, Bonnie crescent in Ravenswood, Newbury Road, Bourne Park and Whitland Close.
The Ipswich Doorstep Play Project will run from 23 July until 29 August. Timetables will be left on notice boards at each area visited and details are also in the Summer Fun brochure available from Ipswich sports venues. The project team will turn up what ever the weather, so please bring appropriate clothing for the weather on the day.
