A special guided walk has been arranged by Ipswich Tourist Information Centre and the town's Blue Badge Tour Guides. "Features in the Fabric" will be a walk looking at historic features and buildings that are depicted on the Ipswich Charter Wall Hangings. The walk is taking place on Saturday 29th March, at 2.15pm, starting at the Tourist Information Centre, St. Stephens Church, where the Hangings are on display.

Places are limited and booking in advance is essential at the Tourist Information Centre – telephone 01473 258070 or email tourist@ipswich.gov.uk - the price is £3.00 per person (£2.00 concessions).

The Wall Hangings have had an eventful few years. As well as being exhibited at various venues around the town they have travelled abroad and been displayed in Jamestown (Virginia), and Ipswich (Massachusetts) in the USA, as well as Arras (France). The "Features in the Fabric" guided walk will be the last one before they move to their permanent, home in St. Peters Church in the town later in the year.

The Wall Hangings are the creation of Isabel Clover, who was commissioned by Ipswich Arts Association as part of its contribution to mark the Millennium. She was assisted by more than 40 of her former City & Guilds students.

Isabel's book "The Ipswich Charter Wall Hangings" priced £7.95, and sets of commemorative postcards of the hangings, priced £2.50 are available at the Tourist Information Centre.
