The longest serving punk band with the original line up, The Adicts, will be playing a nostalgic home town gig at Ipswich Corn Exchange on 11 September 2008. It will be the first time the band have played to their loyal fans in the town since 1992, although they did play a secret Ipswich gig last year to family and friends.

The Adicts began life back in late 1975 and their first ever gig was in front of 50 people in a scout hut in Aldeburgh. In contrast, a recent gig they played in Mexico was in front of 3,000 adoring fans.

The Ipswich gig is the highlight of a 4 date UK tour. Support on the night will be provided by Drongos for Europe and two Ipswich bands, Red Flag 77 and Suspect Device. The shows coincide with the re-recording and release of the bands classic 1981 album, Songs of Praise.

The show at the Grand Hall is for over 14's (under 18's to be accompanied by an adult), and doors open at 7pm. Tickets priced £15 are available from www.gigbox.co.uk (opens in a new window) or in person at Know Your Product, Eagle St, Ipswich.
