The Performance and Scrutiny Unit is the driving force behind performance management and co-ordinates all performance management activity in the Council. To assist in this work a computerised Performance Manager System is in place which allows performance to be monitored and reported to Heads of Service, Directors and Portfolio Holders.
The Unit is also responsible for management of the Overview and Scrutiny function, advising and supporting Overview & Scrutiny Committee in its role.
The Unit's objectives include:
- promoting and driving the Councils corporate plan Transforming Ipswich throughout the organisation
- driving the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) Improvement Plan for the Council
- promoting the culture of performance and risk management throughout the organisation
- ensuring the effectiveness of the Strategic Overview & Scrutiny Committee
