This section provides information for council tenants, for example, what to do if you want to move or exchange home, how to report a repair or save money on your heating bills, and how to make sure the rent you are being charged is correct.
Housing advice
A free, impartial advice and information service for anyone within the Borough with a housing problem.
Housing needs and resources
For all issues relating to housing need, including provision of a housing register, assessment and prioritisation of needs (including special needs), allocations to prospective tenants, and partnership working to meet special housing needs.
Housing policy
Preparation of the Council's Housing Strategy and Business Plan; policy development; research, information and support including performance statistics; preparation and management of the housing capital and revenue programmes; development of partnership working. This team is also responsible for securing new affordable housing for rent and shared ownership.
Private sector housing
Services for people living in privately owned or rented homes.
Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) Consultation
Ipswich Borough Council and Babergh, Mid Suffolk and Suffolk Coastal District Councils are working together to commission a Strategic Housing Market Assessment, which will inform planning and housing policies.
