CRUCIAL CREW
Crucial Crew is a national scheme that has been run by Ipswich Borough Council since 1994. it is delivered to 10/11 year olds in Ipswich and runs for a fortnight in June and a fortnight in September every year. Almost all of the schools in Ipswich, both state and private, attend and in 2006 alone almost 2000 children were able to experience Crucial Crew.
Crucial Crew tackles issues of personal safety such as:
- Fire Safety
- Internet Safety
- Alcohol Awareness
- Countryside Safety
- Waterside Safety
- Financial Security
- Road Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Environmental Awareness
The messages are delivered to the children through 10-minute sessions and the sets are all interactive!

SAFER SUMMER
Safer Summer is an initiative run in the summer months by the Community Safety Team. We have a marquee set up at the big music events in the town which include the concerts held at Ipswich Town Football Club and Music in the Park events in Christchurch Park. The Safer Summer marquee provides an opportunity for people to access a wide range of information in a nonjudgemental way without the pressure of other people knowing what they are looking for:
