The Development Control team deals with the Council's regulatory functions as local planning authority.
The team deals with the processing and determination of planning applications of all types, listed buildings and advertisement control. It has various powers to protect the physical environment, such as Tree Preservation Orders and Untidy Site Notices, and has Enforcement powers to ensure compliance with reasonable requirements. The Council uses an online internet service to provide some basic planning information. This information will be gradually expanded. Our aim is to provide a top quality information and search facility to assist all users of the planning system, in line with the government's e-planning objectives.
