About us

Your Food Safety team at Ipswich Borough Council consists of professional and technical staff and forms part of Commercial Services, which also includes the Council's Occupational Health and Safety Team.

Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) usually train for four years to achieve their professional degree in environmental health and additionally must pass other professional exams after qualifying in order to practise as an EHO.

Ipswich Borough Council is committed to providing practical placements for student EHOs as part of their training and we are often assisted by one or more students.
