Licensed for Civil Ceremonies
Couples now have a wider choice when they decide to have a civil marriage ceremony. The ceremony can take place in any Register Office in England or Wales or at any venue that has been approved to hold a civil marriage.
Licensed for Commitment Ceremonies
A Commitment Ceremony is a meaningful and dignified ceremony for adult couples. The purpose of the ceremony is to make a public declaration of life-long commitment, love and dedication between two people. The occasion can be shared with family and friends or the ceremony can be held in private without guests.
Licensed for Renewal of Vows
This ceremony is for any married couple wishing to celebrate their renewing of vows in a unique and personal ceremony. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary such as tenth or twenty-fifth, but the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage.
Licensed for Naming Ceremonies
A Naming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of your child and welcoming the new born into the family and wider community. It is also ideally suited to welcome an adoptive child or to embrace stepchildren into a family. The child or children can be of any age. A Naming Ceremony is a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved as they pledge their love and support for the child's future.
Civil Ceremony Information
If you decide to choose The Christchurch Mansion for your Ceremony, you must first check with the Superintendent Registrar for the district, that they are able to supply staff to attend your wedding on the date you require. They will then advise you where you must both attend to give notice of your intention to marry, and will also tell you which documents you must produce. You will be advised of the fees payable, and discuss the content of your marriage ceremony. By law, notice cannot be given more than one year in advance, and a minimum period of fifteen clear days must elapse from the day you give notice to when authority can be issued for the wedding to go ahead.
