This picture was disposed of by the artist’s descendants. It was sold at Christie’s on 11^th July 1887 and passed through the hands of several auctioneers, dealers and private owners. Ernest Cook of Bath bequeathed it to the Ipswich Museums through the National Art Collections Fund.
