Ipswich Borough Council has its own set of guidelines and rules to make sure it spends money in a fair, efficient and effective way.

This procurement strategy also ensures that we take account of environmental matters, the local economy, and get the best value for money on behalf of local residents.

The Council's procurement strategy was adopted following the publication of national guidelines (National Procurement Strategy) and a review by the Audit Commission.

Throughout the year, we buy a wide range of goods and services and need suppliers who are able to meet our needs in a continually changing market place, using innovative and cost effective methods.

Links on this site show a range of information including current business opportunities for suppliers, information on our policies and regulations, and details of how to become one of our approved suppliers.
