Q. How can I get a home compost bin?
A. Please ring WRAP direct on 0845 077 0757 quoting 'SHOE'.

Q. Do home compost bins smell?
A. No. Provided you follow a few simple rules. Never place meat, fish, bones, or cooked foods in your bin. Layer your waste, alternating leaves, grass, potato peelings, tea bags, etc, so that a deep layer of grass isn't formed as this will turn slimy and smell. Once a month, spend two minutes turning the contents with a fork to allow oxygen into the contents.

Q. Is soil improver suitable for my garden?
A. Soil improver makes a huge difference to all kinds of soil. Clay is broken up by the rich, lumpy humus which aids drainage, sandy soils benefit from its moisture retaining properties.
