Grounds Maintenance

UpperArb4The visual quality of Ipswich is very much our business.

Ipswich has more parks, gardens, & open green space than most towns of comparable size in the UK. This area equates to around 10% of the total land area of the town. There are over 75 play areas, more than 35 football pitches and a range of other leisure facilities. The grounds maintenance service exists to help look after these things, and more.

Employees carry out: pruning, weed control, grass cutting, bedding, mowing, pitch maintenance, arboricultural works, assisted garden maintenance, sheltered housing, housing garden referrals and the Ipswich cemetery.

Employees are trained and encouraged to have a well developed attitude to the quality of sites maintained and to the natural environment.  The service contributes positively to the Council's Landscape & Wildlife Strategy.  We have ISO14001 environmental accreditation.
