treeman The grounds maintenance service follows documented specifications (approximately 300mm thick!) covering over 1,200 defined tasks at over 1,000 locations in the town. These are developed via computer into work schedules which are issued to employees every 4 week period through the year.

Within the scope of these specifications, these are some examples of service standards we follow:

  • Plant floral bedding in June and October.
  • Park gates unlocked daily.
  • Park toilets cleaned daily.
  • Play areas checked for hazards daily.
  • Football and other pitches marked out every week during season.
  • Shrubs pruned annually to proper horticultural standards.
  • Grass cut to specification and regimes set.
  • Park bins emptied 3 days per week, increased to daily in summer.
  • Litter picking of shrub and amenity areas Mondays and Fridays on special sites.

There are two regimes for hedge cutting. Some are to be cut once per year, others twice per year.
