Ipswich Furniture Project is a local charity which is sponsored by Ipswich Borough Council, who collects furniture which they pass on to low income families. They will also collect appliances such as fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines, even if they are not in working order. Telephone 01473 404004.
Some furniture stores will take away your old piece of furniture, when they deliver the new one.
Household waste sites can be used to dispose of most domestic items. Please click here for more information.
Second hand shops and Charity shops may be interested in any toys, books, clothing and other household items you may wish to part with.
Garden waste can be put in the specially marked containers at the household waste sites, where it is then taken to the local Compost Plant and made into quality compost.
The Ipswich Freecycle group is open to people in and around the Ipswich area who want to recycle something rather than throw it away. www.freecycle.org
