Street Cleansing - Service Standards
- A “Cleaner” Ipswich is one of the Council’s top strategic goals.
- Provide continuous cleaning of the town centre Monday to Saturday (6.00 am to 6.00 pm).
- Sunday morning clean up of town centre and other shopping areas.
- Remove obscene, racist or sexist graffiti within 24 hours of report (where possible).
- Mechanically sweep specific streets at least monthly and some specific streets on a programmed basis twice a year.
- Clean all gullies three times in two years.
- Empty litter bins before overflowing.
- Remove illegally placed flyposters
- Litter pick all outer town streets at least fortnightly.
- Attend out of hours call outs within one hour.
- Undertake chewing gum removal in the town centre annually.
- Remove accumulation of rubbish from Council land.
- During periods of heavy snow or ice, reources allocated to gritting the town and other busy areas.
- Collect reported syringes and needles within two hours.
