Out and About logo
OUT & ABOUT
A partnership with local organisation Out and About to ensure that disabled children and young people can choose from, and take part in, just about any holiday activity organised by Sports Services. Out & About offer support to children with a wide range of physical, sensory and learning impairments including autism and some medical needs. Each child's needs are looked at individually with time spent getting to know what support is needed and how it's best provided. The child is then matched with a staff member whose role it is, is to support the child to ensure that they get as much out of their chosen activity as possible and is fully included.

Support is FREE - you just pay the cost of the activity.

DIRECTORY OF SPORTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

To access the guide please click this link

Note to Clubs - Sports Services endeavour to republish the guide on a biennial basis to make sure that the entries are up to date. If you would like a FREE entry for your club, please contact the Sports Development Unit on 01473 433542 or email sports.development@ipswich.gov.uk

Please note that the Council cannot make regular detailed checks on the clubs listed in the guide, nor does it wish to interfere in the way they are run on a day-to-day basis. The Ipswich Disability Sport Forum (IDSF) was established in 2000 to support and promote sport and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities in the Ipswich area. The Forum has good representation from local people and organisations, including Sports Services, all with the shared interest of increasing and improving sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.

The aim of IDSF is to 'raise the profile of sport for people with disabilities in the Ipswich area'.

The Forum is always keen to hear from new organisations and individuals interested in promoting/providing sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.

If you have any good ideas contact the Sports Development Unit on 01473 433542 or at
