The centres will from time to time commission photographs and video recordings to be made of activities taking place within the facilities. They will be used for promotional purposes and advertising. If any member of the public has concerns regarding inappropriate or intrusive photography particularly where children may be involved they should report this to a member of staff at the earliest opportunity.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Please inform a member of staff of any medical conditions that may affect your participation in any activity whilst at our facilities.
CHILD SAFETY
Ipswich Borough Council recognises that the welfare of children is paramount and that we have a duty of care when children are in our charge. We will do everything we can to ensure that, whilst on any activity organised by Sports Services, children will be valued and protected.
We will do this by:
1. Making sure that staff and volunteers are carefully selected, trained and supervised.
2. Giving parents, children and workers information about what we do and what they can expect from us.
3. Letting parents and children know how to voice their concerns or complain if there is anything they are not happy about.
4. Asking all adults in our organisation to share concerns about the welfare of any child/young person with the Designated (or Appointed Deputy) Child Protection Officer.
For further information on child safety issues check out the NSPCC web site at www.nspcc.org.uk, Sports Services have also been endorsed by the Suffolk Area Child Protection Committee for providing 'safer activities for children'. The Sports Service has also been awarded SAFE Accreditation in recognition work that has been undertaken around child protection procedures. For further information about SAFE visit www.oursafesite.com
LATE COLLECTION OF CHILDREN
Please note that it is not the responsibility of Sports Services to continue to supervise children once activities have finished. Therefore it is important that if there is any likelihood of late collection parents contact the Centre in question to notify them. Parents are also advised to supply an alternative contact name and number for staff use when they are not available on their usual number.
