BADMINTON

where to play
We have badminton courts at each of our sports centres  - Gainsborough Sports Centre, Maidenhall Sports Centre, Northgate Sports Centre and Whitton Sports Centre

booking
Booking is strongly recommended and can be done with an i-card 7 days in advance, online, via the phone or in person.

juniors
Mini-Badminton, Wednesday 5-6pm, 7-14 years at Gainsborough
Junior Badminton 7-15 years Saturdays 8.45am - 10am at Northgate




joining a club
There is a junior badminton club at Northgate Sports Centre.

The Suffolk Badminton Academy is also based at Gainsborough and Whitton Sports Centres.

where to play
We have maple sprung floor squash courts at each of our sports centres.
Gainsborough Sports Centre • Maidenhall Sports Centre
Northgate Sports Centre • Whitton Sports Centre

There are adult squash leagues at Gainsborough, Northgate and Maidenhall Sports Centres and a junior squash club at Maidenhall Sports Centre.

Ipswich Sports Club has the largest squash club in Ipswich and members of all abilities from newcomers up to county level can take advantage of their facilities. The club runs internal leagues for men and women and fields many teams in the local leagues. Opportunities are available for youngsters to pursue the sport at what ever level they

Britannia Table Tennis Club is the main table tennis club in

Outdoor courts are available at Gainsborough, Northgate and Maidenhall Sports Centres and indoor mini tennis courts can be found at all four sports centres.

coaching for children 
There is no better way to start than with the modified version of  tennis with small sized rackets and special balls that ensures children experience success and the excitement of the game. You cannot place you child in better hands than with the vastly experienced coaches at Copleston and Holywells Community Tennis Club, which is one of Suffolk’s top accredited LTA Mini Tennis Centres.

tournaments
The Ipswich Junior Parks Tennis Tournament is an annual event, set in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park.The tournament is traditionally held during the first week of the school summer holidays.

disabled access to racket sports
Each of our facilities comply with the required DDA regulations. Organised disabled groups which play racket sports include Active Antics based at Gainsborough and Whitton Sports Centres.
