The Ipswich Junior Parks Tennis Tournament provides a fantastic opportunity for developing young tennis players to sample the thrill of playing in an organised tournament.
This annual event, first held in 1993, is set in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park with the finals taking place at the Ensors County Tennis Centre at Ipswich Sports Club.
The tournament is traditionally held during the first week of the school summer holidays and attracts a large entry of boys and girls from the age of eight through to eighteen.
As the tournament is specifically aimed at the developing young player, those who have represented their county or who have an LTA rating better than 9.2 (8.2 for the under 18’s events) as of 1st April are not eligible to enter. In addition everybody who gets knocked out keeps the match balls, enabling them to get plenty of practice in for the following year’s tournament.
