RLSS LogoR.L.S.S. NPLQ  (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
This comprehensive course enables candidates to achieve an internationally recognised Lifeguarding qualification and is ideal for those who are looking for employment such as a Lifeguard, either in the UK or abroad.
Students must be 16 years of age and must able to meet all the listed fitness criteria.


R.L.S.S NATIONAL RESCUE AWARD FOR SWIMMING TEACHERS & COACHES
This is an assessment in practical lifesaving skills that may be needed by anyone teaching or coaching swimming or another programmed or structured activity in a pool. It is endorsed by the Amateur Swimming Association, The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management and The Institute of Swimming Teachers and Coaches.
The award is also recognised in 'Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools' as being appropriate for those supervising swimming pool programmed activities.


ASA LogoASA CERTIFICATES FOR TEACHING SWIMMING
LEVEL 1
This qualification is a necessary first step for those wishing to become fully qualified swimming teachers. This course is ideal for school teachers, recreation/leisure attendants and interested swimming helpers. Once qualified a holder of the Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Swimming is able to assist in the teaching of a limited range of basic skills to a group consisting of up to 4 participants under supervision of a qualified ASA Teacher/Coach (Swimming).
Candidates must be over 16 years of age at the start of the course.

LEVEL 2
The full teachers course is the second stage in becoming a swimming instructor. This course covers the teaching of swimming skills to groups of pupils from non-swimmers to advanced, plus organisation and supervision of Assistant Teachers and helpers.
Candidates will need to have completed 15 hours of verified teaching practice before the start of the course, hold the ASA Level 1 (Assistant Teacher) Certificate (Swimming) (or have gained exemption from it). Candidates also need to be aware that there is an additional 20 hours of guided learning hours away from the course. Candidates must be over 18 years of age at the start of the course.
