The Area Forums meet quarterly at different venues around Ipswich.
What is an Area Forum?
An Area Forum is somewhere for local people to go to share their views and get involved in local decision-making. They are an important way for the Council to really understand what makes local communities tick and all residents are welcome to attend. Residents can get updated on events or changes happening in their area and question the Borough Officers, Councillors and partner agencies who are on hand to answer any queries. Previous Forums have discussed topics including the Local Development Framework (planning for Ipswich's future), environment, highways and parking issues, to name but a few! The Forums are also a great place for residents to meet each other and to highlight the work that they are already doing within their own communities.
The Ipswich Communities Team

Communities Team: Debbie Owen, Cllr Nadia Cenci, Val Peacock and Renu Mandal
The Ipswich Borough Council Communities Team is an important link between the Council, its partners in the one-ipswich local strategic partnership, and Ipswich residents.
As well as being involved in the Area Forums the team also help and support existing residents' associations, such as Neighbourhood Watch, and advise groups how to apply for various grants, such as the Area Forums Budget.
The Area Forums Budget is something that any community group can apply for. For more information about the budget interested applicants should contact the team.
