About us

Service delivery in Ipswich is shared between Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk County Council.

The Borough Council is responsible for services such as benefits, environmental health, leisure, planning, recycling, refuse collection and street cleaning.

Ipswich Borough Council has a Labour administration. Labour holds 33 seats on the 48-seat Council. Ipswich Borough Council policy is made by these Politicians and that policy is then enacted by council staff.
