Council lettings - garages

Ipswich Borough Council has garages to rent in various different areas across town.

Charges

Rent for a Council garage is £9.64 per week, except for council tenants who pay £8.03 per week.

If a water supply is available on site, an extra £1.08 per week will be charged.

People who receive the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance are entitled to a £1 per week discount off the cost of renting an Ipswich Borough Council garage or hardstand and should complete the Garage Discount application form.

Payments can be made weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Our preferred method of payment is monthly by direct debit but payments can also be made using the network of Payzones across Ipswich.

How to apply

Alternatively you can pick up a form from our Customer Service Centre in the Town Hall.

When a garage in one of your three nominated areas becomes available, we will get in touch to provide details.

Restrictions

• Only private vehicles can be stored in the garages;
• Unrelated items can not be stored;
• The person renting the garage must live within the boundaries of the borough of Ipswich.
