Improvements and repairs

Ipswich Borough Council's Maintenance and Contracts team are based at Gipping House on the Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate.

We undertake a wide range of building and maintenance work and consist of a dedicated team of skilled tradesmen and office based staff. We offer expertise in all aspects within the construction industry and have an established supply chain of contractors and suppliers.

What we do

We cover a wide range of works, including:

• New build projects and large extensions;
• Refurbishment of homes and commercial buildings;
• Conversions;
• Maintenance covering all trades, including maintenance of Ipswich's 8,300 council homes;
• Emergency Provision - a 365 day service covering all aspects of home repairs;
• Disabled adaptations;
• Refurbishing empty council homes for new tenants;
• Electrical rewiring of homes, schools and public buildings;
• Specialist restoration of listed buildings, such as the grade 1 listed Christchurch Mansion and Chantry Mansion.
