Household waste - rubbish collections

Ipswich Borough Council collect waste and recycling from over 59,000 households every week, at a cost of just 70p per week per household. We also collect waste and recycling from over 2,000 businesses in Ipswich.

Ipswich residents are doing really well with their recycling and at the moment nearly 45% of all waste produced is being sent for recycling instead of to landfill. However, we are sure that we can still do more!

Black bins - general rubbish

Blue bins - recycling

Brown bins - garden waste

Our bins come in three different sizes:

• Small: 140 litres;
• Medium: 180 litres;
  
• Large: 240 litres.
