The Community Safety Team works to make Ipswich a safer place and to ensure the safety of anyone who lives in, works in or visits Ipswich.
We look at the physical and social aspects of safety, and seek to support charities, local community groups and other organisations that also work towards this goal.
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 established Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs). This imposed a statutory duty on local authorities and the Police to work closely together to:
- reduce crime;
- reduce anti-social behaviour;
- reduce the fear of crime.
The Ipswich Community Safety team runs a variety of projects throughout the year to help promote the work of the Community Safety Partnership and promote safety messages.
