Having Difficulty Paying

If you are finding it difficult to pay your Council Tax it is important that you let us know as soon as possible. You should contact us as soon as you think you are going to have a problem paying your bill.

We may be able to reduce what you have to pay, for example you may qualify for a discount that you didn't know about or you may qualify for Council Tax Reduction.

We may also be able to help by agreeing a different timetable for your payments.

What happens if you don't pay?

If you do miss a Council Tax payment there are several steps which the Council will take to remind you that you need to pay.

If we don't know that you are having problems paying, we may take legal action to recover the money which could result in you having to pay a lot more.
