Talented Athlete Support
We believe it is important to recognise and support talented athletes, providing support to help them reach their potential in training and competition.
There are two levels of assistance that athletes can apply for:
Elite Athlete Support
A benefits package for senior international athletes - the athletes must be selected to compete or coach for their country at an international full squad level.
Identified athletes receive a package of benefits, provided in partnership with local businesses.
Developing Athlete Support
Access to training facilities for junior and senior national athletes - the athletes must be competing in, or coaching at, a national age group category, national championship level or sports development level.
Identified athletes receive free use of Ipswich Borough Council sports facilities.
Criteria
To apply for either Elite or Developing Athlete Support applicants must:
- Be recognised by their National Sports Governing Body as an athlete of potential;
- Either live in Ipswich, be in full time education or employment in Ipswich, or be a subscribed member of a club within Ipswich (Ipswich is defined as the boundary of Ipswich Borough Council);
- Provide proof of selection and level from National Sports Governing Body with each application.
All successful athletes will be reviewed on an annual basis.
Conditions
- Successful applicants will be expected to liaise with Ipswich Borough Council to provide reports and evidence of their success or progression.
- Successful applicants will be required to support the promotion of sport in Ipswich through media and marketing campaigns.
If you feel that you meet the criteria above, please download and complete the application form below and return to the address detailed on the form:
