South West Area Committee
What's on in South West
With Councillor Peter Gardiner, Chair
"We are planning several walkabouts in the coming months in order to engage with the community in each of our four wards.
"We want to involve you fully in our discussions and decision-making - this is a great opportunity to change the way we do things. But that is only going to work if you tell us what concerns - or pleases - you in this part of Ipswich."

South West Area Update
Walkabouts have been a successful focus of the South West Area Committee and eight have taken place across all four wards. In each case, councillors and officers have been joined by residents eager to help and get involved. The South West wards are all very different but common themes have linked all, those being fly-tipping and littering.
Parking, speeding and pot-holes have also featured. All issues raised have been collated and sent to the relevant officers and agencies for responses, which have been fed back at the area committee meetings.
Wind turbines were a major feature of the last South West Area Committee. The meeting was attended by approximately 150 residents all keen to find out more and make their points for or against. Residents commented on how useful it was and were pleased to have been given the chance to raise their points.
The next South West Area Committee meeting takes place on Wednesday 15th January 2014 at the Suffolk New Academy, Mallard Way, IP2 9LR. All welcome.
