This guide outlines the great variety of public art that can be found around Ipswich. It will be updated as new works are realised.

We hope that it will help you look again at sights and places that you may have once missed. We think you may be pleasantly surprised at the quantity of artwork that can be found all around the town.

The artworks are listed alphabetically by artist's name on the pages below. Alternatively, we have also grouped the art works roughly by area:

Further information, including the artists name and background, is available for each individual work.

As part of the Cultural Olympiad, in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, we have produced the Artathon - a map providing routes around Ipswich's public sculptures at a range of different distances. You can find out more on the Artathon page.

We are keen to keep this Guide up-to-date, so if you have any information about artworks in Ipswich that are not included here, please let us know by emailing the Conservation and Urban Design team using the details above.

Guidelines for commissioning Public Art are available to download as a PDF:

From time to time the Council is generously offered artworks for display in public spaces. Particular considerations apply to such donations and guidance for potential donors is available below as a PDF:
